Seconded. At first, I thought Trevor was drunk when he posed it. |

Well done Trevor. He looks an intruiging prospect for sure. I've actually had the pleasure of watching him play a couple of times in Europe. Now he is much better though |

I am not in the headspace of wanting to say anything positive about Melnyk and by extension Dorion. But, it is clear to me the deal for Karlsson is a bit better than what the media has suggested. And, it is far better than what Montreal got for Paciorotti.
The return for Karlsson includes:
Chris Tierney (age 24) played 82 games for SJ. 17 goals, 23 assists
Dylan Demelo (age 25) played 62 games for SJ, 20 assists
Rudolf Balcers (age 21) leading scorer San Jose Barracuda (5th round pick)
Josh Norris (age 19) U. of Michigan, US National Team (19th overall pick 2017)
2nd Round pick 2019 Either Florida or SJ (Ottawa option)
1st Round pick 2020 But if SJ misses playoffs in 2019 Ottawa gets SJ 2019 first round pick
2nd Round pick 2021. But if Karlsson signs with SJ this becomes a 1st in 2021. |

bolded is not right....
it's a 2nd rd pick if Karlsson re-signs, and it turns into a 1st if SJ makes the SCF this year.
also, if he's traded this season to an EC team they get another 1st |

That makes a difference. I took it off of Capfriendly and probably misread the detail.
Yes, just reread Capf..It is exactly as you described. |

What if neither of those things happen? Does Ottawa not get that extra pick or does it change to some other pick? |

They get nothing if neither happen. EDIT: Same if San Jose makes the finals and Karlsson doesn't resign. |

Not sure what happens if they make the SCF but he walks.
If neither happens then there is no pick |

Yeah for Erik Karlsson.

Congrats.....you win the most retarded post on hockeybuzz for the week
Suzuki isn't even a top 50 prospect
Norris and Suzuki are similarly ranked, plus sens got 2 good roster players, another solid prospect and two or three 1st or 2nd rd picks.
Your post is beyond retarded |

Okay let's try Duchene return versus Karlsson return.
For Duchene
2019 lottery 1st round pick or 2018 1st (could have been Zadina or Tkatchuk), Girard, Bowers, Kamenev, 2nd and 3rd.
For Karlsson
Balcers, Tierney, Norris and conditional picks oh yeah and DeMelo
God it's really hard not to love what Melnyk and Dorion are doing here...................

I was listening to Team690 in Montreal. They said Suzuki is rated somewhere in the 30's and the 2 prospects that Ottawa got weren't even in the top 100.

I firmly say that the Sens should have waited until next feb with Karlsson in the fold. Told him to keep his mouth shut and just play the best he can. THEN at the deadline let him go to a contending team at the best price (along with a Duchene or Stone) for a massive return. Even if you don't throw in someone else the fact is Karlsson helps sell tickets AND would make the pick the Avs get worse than what it will be now |

I imagine Norris would have to be in the top 100?
Habs media is completely unbiased.
But honestly I think Suzuki is a good get. I had no idea Bergevin was capable of doing good in a trade. |

NHL.com released their top 50 and Suzuki is t in it.......the Montreal radio is just trying to appease their fans
Norris drafted only a few spots behind Suzuki.....similar prospects. One played CHL and one played NCAA |

"Bargain Bin" Bergevin is good at making small deals to improve the bottom 6 and 3rd pairing D. But all his major moves have backfired on him |
